The Department of Entomology, Plant Pathology and Weed Science provides academic instruction, research and service that focuses on managing pests in semi-arid ecosystems.

The department emphasizes understanding the biology of pest organisms, their interactions, and how pests impact urban, agricultural and natural resources. We teach integrated biology so students can understand and manage current and emerging issues in plant and animal health and protection, using tools from molecular to landscape scales.

Graduates pursue advanced degrees in the sciences, admittance to professional schools (medical, dental, etc.). Students may also enter careers in the commercial sector or government agencies.

We invite you to participate in the Department of Entomology, Plant Pathology and Weed Science by going to our secure Online Giving Form to make your gift.

You may also contact us to discuss how you can make an investment in our department.
