The Family and Consumer Sciences Department prepares students for rewarding careers helping families and individuals through classroom study, hands-on training and mentorship by outstanding professors. The department offers four majors:

• Clothing, Textiles, and Fashion Merchandising (CTFM)
• Family and Child Science (FCS)
• Family and Consumer Sciences Education (FCSE)
• Human Nutrition and Food Science (HNFS)

  Awarded to undergraduate and graduate students who show academic promise.  
     
  Evelyn Hollen Scholarship  
  Awarded to undergraduate female students majoring in family and consumer sciences education. Recipients should demonstrate qualities of character and leadership.

  Bessie Irby Jeffers Memorial Scholarship  
  Awarded to junior and senior students.  
     
  Mae Martha Johnson Memorial Scholarship  
  Awarded to a undergraduate and graduate students studying food and nutrition. Preference given to a New Mexico resident.

  Edith Lantz Memorial  
  Awarded to freshmen, sophomore, junior, senior and graduate students.
 
     
  Julia S. Lee Memorial Scholarship  
  Awarded to a graduate or undergraduate student working or majoring in clothing, textiles, and fashion merchandising.

  Socorro FHA / Lelia Greenwald Scholarship

  Extension Home Economics  
  Funds used to support public education throughout New Mexico.  
     
  Family and Consumer Sciences Renovation Fund  
  Supports facility renovations and equipment acquisition for education & research.  
     
  Family and Consumer Sciences Department Fund  
  Used to support faculty and student development activities, including but not limited to: travel, scholarships, or research.  
     
  Family Resource Center  
  Gifts into this account will be used for equipping and operating the new Family Resource Center located in the Children’s Village. The Family Resource Center delivers parenting classes, nutrition education, family therapy, and other family support and enrichment activities for New Mexico State University families.  
     
  Strengthening Families Initiative  
  This is a program that provides parent and couple education for at-risk families.  
     
  Human Nutrition  
  Funds support programs in nutrition and dietetics.
