The Pan Amercian Center was constructed in 1968. The Center can seat about 13,000 fans of the Aggies who come to see the men's/ women's basketball and volleyball teams. It also serves hosts to concerts and special events.
The Pan Amercian Center received its name from Paul Rader, a former NMSU vice president who named it because of its position along Interstate 25, also known as the Pan American Highway, and NMSU's continuing programs with communities throughout the Western hemisphere.
The New Mexico State University Board of Regents approved a $22.87 million renovation and addition project for the Pan American Center which was completed in 2006. Key components of the renovation included offices, new chair-back seating to replace bleachers, relocating the main concourse so that it encircles the perimeter of the existing building, and to provide new concession areas, rest room facilities and improved accessibility to all levels.
Visitor parking is available in the lot directly north of Pan American Center. You will need a parking permit, but visitors can conveniently obtain an e-Permit online. Please let us know what date(s) you would like to visit so we can ensure your visit is a success.
