On behalf of the New Mexico State University Library thank you for investing your time to consider how gifts to the Library are truly “Doing What Counts”. The University Library develops and provides essential and specialized resources and services to meet the needs of the NMSU community and the people of New Mexico.

At the heart of the NMSU Library are its collections including archival materials, books, reference tools, journals, databases, and recordings that inspire first-rate research, teaching, and learning. We are committed to having an environment of free and open inquiry. The Library must build a stable foundation of private support.

An online gift of say $500 can be added to an existing endowment or to the purchase of books or scholarly journals in an area of your choice. Here are other areas where your to investment can have significant impact:

- Support an endowed professorship for a digital librarian ($250,000)
- Revitalize the Library to facilitate and stimulate academic discovery ($1,000,000)
- An endowment dedicated to building our collections such as electronic research material and digital   media. Our long term goal is a $50,000,000 endowment earmarked for collections.

We will build these endowments gift by gift with your support. Please take a moment to explore the various links and information we have compiled that highlight the library’s mission.

Zuhl Library: (return to top)

Occupying over 89,000 square feet, Zuhl library is located in McFie circle just south of Milton Hall. NMSU utilizes a two-library system. Zuhl is home to the education, humanities, and social sciences collections. Branson Hall, the other library on campus, contains archives and special collections, agricultural, business, sciences, government documents, and technology collections.

At a cost of over $11 million, the Zuhl Library was designed by Dean/Krueger and Associates and completed in 1992.

A Quest for Knowledge sculpture, made of granite and stainless steel, was created by Federico Armijo and dedicated in 1992. The piece suggests the openness of the mind and the aspirations of the human spirit. This work is located northeast of the entrance to the Zuhl Library.
